M.Tech Programmes

Indian Institute of Information Technology Sri City, Chittoor offers a vibrant and research intensive environment in the field of Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering. Established in 2013, it is one of the promising institutes under Public Private Partnership (PPP) model of IIITs established under an act of Parliament by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. With a focus on quality teaching and research in cutting edge technologies at the core, the institute offers B.Tech, Master of Science (MS) by Research and PhD programs (full-time and part-time) in broad areas of CSE and ECE disciplines.

Primarily, IIIT Sri City, Chittoor is focusing on preparing aspiring students who could develop an advancement in the field of Information and Communication Technologies that would transform the future of our generations. To achieve this goal, our academic programmes are designed to be specialised programs that are an amalgam of the strong fundamental understanding of scientific and engineering concepts and intricate the growing needs of mankind.

IIIT Sri City, as a research driven institute, will address the most challenging socio-cultural, technical, and health related problems through both basic and applied Science and Engineering. The vision is to shape graduates into hardcore professionals who would become effective leaders and noteworthy technological innovators in the days ahead.

The M. Tech programmes at the institute are aimed at developing creative and innovative minds who could attempt to fulfil the needs of various industries and research organisations of the country and abroad and also produce industry ready engineers who could meet the needs of the society. IIIT Sri City commits to offer a multidisciplinary approach which can enable the students to develop their problem solving skills and apply critical reasoning to come up with innovative solutions. The proposed specialised M. Tech programmes in AI & ML and Cybersecurity, include a rigorous study of the core subjects, along with seminars and project/thesis through which a student may develop his/her conceptual knowledge with practical experience.

Computer Science and Engineering:

The postgraduate programme in Computer Science and Engineering focuses on teaching and research to provide the students with in-depth knowledge of the primary areas in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics and other related applied areas that require fundamental knowledge of computing and communication.

We focus on the following two specialised M.Tech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering:

a) M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
b) M.Tech in Cybersecurity

a) M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a branch of Computer Science that focuses on creating machines to perform with a high level of understanding and mimic the human capabilities with computable intelligence. The primary areas of Artificial Intelligence include Knowledge Representation, Reasoning, Problem-Solving Capabilities, Cognition, Self - Learning, Planning and Execution. AI technology is evolving very quickly in the past with significant implications on the world's economy. With the advent of industry 4.0 standards, the demand for AI based solutions is also increasing and it is very essential to build the futuristic solutions of AI. In order to develop an AI based infrastructure, this program will provide enough avenues to strengthen our motto of industry readiness of our student community.

Objectives:

This M.Tech in AI & ML program is expected to offer students with deep knowledge of both fundamentals of computing and the basic to advanced application oriented AI technologies. At the end of this program, the student will be capable of undertaking challenging careers in industry as well as academia / research organisations. The student will also have the option to investigate different research areas including Manufacturing, Fintech, Healthcare, Agriculture, Robotics, Smart City, and so on.

Expected Graduate Attributes:

After completing this programme, a student will be able to develop an ability to:

  • Comprehend fundamental concepts and hands-on knowledge of the state-of-the-art AI methodologies.
  • Design and Build real-world AI systems for complex planning, decision making and learning, solving application-specific problems, and to reason about them.
  • Conceive, Design and Develop Intelligent multi-modal multi-sensory Man-Machine interfaces.
  • Design, Develop and Deploy machine learning based applications using structured and unstructured data (e.g., speech, text, images/videos).
  • Understand and Assess reliability, dependability and trust-worthiness of AI-based systems.
  • Design and develop AI applications for resource constrained environments.
  • Adhere to evolving ethics and privacy laws across various domains and territories.
  • Plan and manage technical projects.

  • Ability to develop real-time and robust AI-based systems with specific software, hardware and data requirements.
  • Build solutions to explore fully immersive computer-generated worlds (in VR), and overlay computer graphics onto our view of our immediate environment (AR) along with smart, cognitive functionality.
  • Demonstrate advanced skills to comprehend and communicate effectively.
  • Carry out projects using intelligent cognitive solutions provided by AI algorithms to get more insights in stakeholder management, risk modeling, intelligent resource scheduling and managing project constraints with intelligent use of data models.
