Women Empowerment is a global issue with a significance in India. Centuries of a Patriarchal Society, has left women in vulnerable situations both Personally and Economically. Women observe a 65 percent Literacy Rate and 55 percent Employment Rate in Urban Areas. These figures are significantly lower in Rural Areas. As a result, Women Empowerment is a key issue that needs to be addressed in India.
IIITS is proud to present a special student club known as Women’s Connection, which aims to enrich the lives of local women through lectures, workshops and networking sessions that are in line with Women’s Interest. Women’s Connections also helps local women tackle issues such as use of sanitary napkins, family planning, postnatal counselling and domestic trauma that are in line with Women’s Empowerment.
